Google Chrome
Like many people, I downloaded Google's new browser and like it. However, as its in "Beta", I'll point out the things I would like fixed:
- Show the complete URL when I mouseover a link. As a developer, I would like to see all the variables passed in the url string.
- When I click on a Word or Excel document as a link, Chrome prompts me to save the file. I would like to simply open up the corresponding program and view the file. This is a big miss in my opinion. I cannot figure out how to associate mime types to a file extension
- Allow 3rd party plugins. No brainer
- If I click on the "X" button to close the browser, and I have multiple tabs opened, prompt me with an alert box. I seem to make this careless mistake often for some reason, and Firefox gives me the option in the settings area to alert me when closing multiple tabs at once.
Just my short list for the moment. (Add the first comment)
internal hard drive recommendations I am looking to replace the hard drive in a business PC. Reliability is most important for me. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks (View the 1 comments and add another)
Movie - 10,000 BC
This movie sucked. Terrible. It could have been good, but they didn't even try. Its awful. I can't decide if it was the writing or whoever cut it, but it doesn't even try to build suspense or anything.
I try to find good in everything, so they did spend something on the special effects. 1 out of 5 stars. (Add the first comment)

Ultramax Quarter Ironman
Competed in this yesterday. Very professional event, and well organized. I was wanting to break 3 hours and came through with a 2:40. I need to become faster in the run, as I got my butt handed to me. I rocked the bike, and at one point was flying along ala David Millar speed of 30mph on flat ground. I probably averaged 25mph when it was flat, which felt really nice. However that bike doesn't like climbing very much, and the first 5 miles are hills.
I did see Amy Strahan and she was in phenomenal shape as always. She rocked to a very good 3rd place. Nice job Amy. I can say with pretty much confidence that this is the hardest triathlon in the St. Louis area. The run is so hilly its sick. Everyone should do it at least once. Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel
David Millar was on this last night so I watched it. Normally I think Bryant Gumbel is a pretty decent host, but he took a very cheap shot at Lance Armstrong at the very end of the piece, hinting that Lance has always doped or something.
Bryant - do your homework. (View the 2 comments and add another)

Rain
It seems if I ride my bike these days I will get rained on. Today's thunderstorm was too much for me. Having said that I would like to thank to good people of Vally Park for the use of their pavilion. (View the 1 comments and add another)
Open Water Swimming
Last weekend was my first open water triathlon, and it was an interesting experience. Swimming in open water is NOT EASY. First of all, you can't see anything, so that is fun. Second, a mass start consists of a ton of skinny people running into the water who then proceed to kick and hit each other while trying to swim around a designated course.
The wetsuit is a bit constricting in my opinion, and I find myself learning to swim all over again, but with less air. So..... hit and kicked, while breathing through a straw. Whats not to like? (Add the first comment)
my day today
I had a bit of a rough day today. I know the problem, but don't feel like shouting it out here. I need a change I think. (Add the first comment)
I swam today
Since the weather was bad today, I went to the pool. Usualy I don't swim long on the weekends, but today I did 1.25 miles in about 40 minutes.
The 1/2 ironman is 5 weeks away, and I'm starting to feel pretty good, although the bike is still going to be the toughest part I think. (Add the first comment)

I saw that Klages took a very impressive 5th at Tilles. I remember he took 5th there when we both raced as 4s. Then he very quickly moved up.
Nice job. (View the 1 comments and add another)
MOVIE - There Will Be Blood
Great movie. Daniel Day Lewis is pretty amazing. The movie is laid out really well. I have to say I see a little bit of myself in Daniel Day Lewis's character, which scares me a bit. The director, Paul Thomas Anderson, is awesome, and I like all of his prior movies.
This movie gets a very rare 5 out of 5 stars. I'll probably buy it. (Add the first comment)
Kansas Ironman 7.3
Last weekend I scouted the bike and run course. The bike course is hillier than expected. Its going to surprise a lot of people I think. The wind is severe, as there is not much to disipate it across the farmlands. I was thinking I could do the bike portion (56 miles) in 3 hours, but the wind is pretty hairy. Now, in case anyone says 56 miles in 3 hours? Easy! The race isn't over at that point. There's a little half marathon waiting for you. You have to "pace" yourself. Its fun to blow past people on a bike, but not fun to die on the run. All being said, the season has officially started for me, and I'm racing the next 7 weekends. All duathlons or triathlons. Go St. Louis 1/2 marathon
Had a good run. Probably ran too slow as I had a lot of energy left at the end and ran the final mile in 7:30. 15,000 runners. It was a blast. I think I'll be doing it again next year. I wish I didn't have to get up at 4:30am though.
4.75 out of 5 stars. (View the 1 comments and add another)

I have to say that the 2008 Milan San Remo bike race was the best I've seen in a long, long time. Very exciting to watch, and Slipstream is my favorite team by far. (Add the first comment)

I have a weird sunburn
I went to Steamboat Springs, Colorado with Logan over the weekend. I snowboarded all day Friday and Saturday, and now have a funny looking sunburn on my face. Everything outside of my goggles is red, but from my goggle line above is pale white. Whoops! (Add the first comment)

I really liked this movie. Denzel Washington is a great actor, along with Russell Crowe. I like gangster movies anyways. Since its a true story, all the better. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. (View the 1 comments and add another)
